Stalwart retires after 36 years as union member!

The ASU would like to congratulate Ken Holland after receiving ASU Life Membership for his tireless work for the union for over 35 years.

Ken joined the union back in August, 1972, becoming a delegate several years later. Ken was delegate at Glenelg Shire Council until his retirement in June this year.

Ken was instrumental in achieving successful outcomes to several enterprise agreements along his journey, and was more than willing to help other members through day-to-day issues in the workplace.

During his employment with Glenelg Shire, Ken admits to doing almost every type of job in the yard, and after more than three and a half decades, he certainly deserves his retirement (but don’t mention the patching truck!).

The ASU wish Ken, his lovely wife Marilyn and the rest of the Holland family a long and happy retirement.

Congratulations: Ken Holland (centre) accepts his life membership award from ASU organiser Barry Miller. Also pictured is Patrick Jones, the man who will replace Ken as delegate at Glenelg Shire Council.
