CAR INSURANCE ALERT FOR HOME CARERS!

The ASU has been alerted to the fact that some insurance companies will only insure the cars of home carers at the higher business rate, not at the private rate. Some companies argue that if you cannot do your job without your car, then it must be classed as business use.

The ASU want to make members aware that the home carers who are insured at the private rate with some companies may not be properly covered if they are in an accident.

Please make sure you clarify this with your insurance company.
