Click on the image to visit the Employment Services website! The ASU has been funded by the Department of Education Employment and Workplace Relations (DEEWR) to undertake a national Employment Service Worker Reconnection project. This project will investigate issues relating to the migration of workers from Job Network providers to Job Services Australia (JSA) providers and the attraction and retention of a skilled workforce for JSA. The ASU is calling this project Employment Services: not just a job.
As part of this project on Monday, 12 October, 2009 we are launching our new Employment Services website http://www.employmentservicesunion.org.au/. The site has up to date information for the employment services sector including information on award modernisation, the introduction of the National Employment Standards (NES) as well as updates from DEEWR and links to relevant websites plus much more.
Do our survey and have your say! The national "Employment Services: not just a job survey" is now open. Complete this national survey and be in the running to win an iPod Nano. Just as importantly have your say about what measures would assist JSA services attract and retain a skilled workforce and help us find out what happened to Job Network workers after the JSA tender. The survey is open until 16 November 2009 and open to all workers in the employment services sector and those who were employed with a Job Network employer prior to the transition to the JSA tender.
>> So go on, click here to complete the survey now. It takes approximately five minutes.
The Employment Services: not just a job project is based on collaboration and mutual cooperation. We are excited about this project as it gives workers and employers an opportunity to provide feedback on how the JSA transition affected them and how skilled workers can be attracted and retained by the sector. The ASU looks forward to working with a diverse range of individuals and organisations as part of the project.
More information If you wish to learn more about the Employment Services: not just a job project or want to become involved please do not hesitate to contact the ASU JSA National Project Coordinator, Julie Kun on jkun@asu.asn.au or (03) 9342 1450.
