Each year in Australia, at least 60 women and 20 children will die as a result of family violence.
To raise awareness about family violence and to remember all those women and children who have been killed, we are holding a public event at:
Federation Square, Melbourne on Friday, November 27, from 6.30pm.
Family and friends are invited to join survivors, workers from the violence against women sector, the White Ribbon campaign, VicHealth, Victoria Police, the Metropolitan Fire Brigade, the Australian Services Union and the Electrical Trades Union to say ‘Not One More’ and to demand a future free from family violence.
If you are a SACS worker - either representing your agency or simply as yourself as a worker at the public event - and are keen to talk to a journalist in your area to explain why an event of this nature is important to you, contact George Farrugia at the ASU on gfarrugia@asuvic.com. Remember, you do not have to identify what specific service you work for.
